I am one of the newest grads - defended in June 2011. I also have taken a bit of a different career path thus far... Immediately after graduation, I moved to WA, where I started work at the University of Puget Sound as the manager/trainer/technician for the microscope facility and other core equipment (confocal LSM, SEM, TEM, qPCR, microarray, etc.). My job focuses mainly on training students and faculty to use the microscopes, etc., and helping teach certain lab sections. Also, I started up a freelance medical writing/editing business, CRL MedWrite, http://crlmedwrite.com, and for the last 6+ months, I have done consultation work with a couple different medical communications companies (work including preparation of manuscripts, posters, abstracts, medical slide decks, etc., and editing of a variety of scientific documents).
